Aboul Gheit welcomes political declaration signed in Khartoum

The Secretary-General of the Arab League, Ahmed Aboul Gheit has welcomed the important political declaration signed Sunday between Lieutenant-General Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, the Chairman of the Transitional Sovereign Council, and Prime Minister, Dr. Abdullah Hamdouk, as a result of great Sudanese efforts, supported by the Arabs and the international community over the past weeks to get out of the crisis that the country witnessed, and to make the transitional period successful.

An official source in the General Secretariat of the ALO noted to the Secretary-General directions to the organization work closely with the government that Dr. Hamdouk will form to realize the goals of the constitutional document and the Juba Peace Agreement. ​

It worth noting that the ALO delegation, which visited Khartoum on November 6-7, had previously expressed optimism about the imminent signing of an agreement that addresses the various challenges, and its confidence in the determination of the Sudanese will to lead the transitional period to safety and support peace, development and stability in the country. ​
